Catching Up

We've been very busy the past few weeks. I'll catch you up on what we've been doing.

On June 29th, Avery had her 4 month check up. The doctor and nurse were amazed at how much she had grown! She weighed 13 lbs. 5.5 oz and was 25 inches long. Since her last visit 2 months ago her weight had jumped from the 10th percentile to the 25th percentile, and her height went from 25th to 75th! She's growing so fast.

She's also doing a few new tricks. She likes to sit in her Bumbo seat now. We have the play tray that goes on it and we put her toys on the tray for her to play with. She's likes sitting up. She'll probably be doing it on her own soon.




One of her favorite new things to do is grab her feet. She just started doing that this week. I'm sure that pretty soon her feet will be going in her mouth just like everything else!





Our good friends Andrea and Matt had a precious baby boy last week. Knox was born on June 30th. We went to the hospital to visit him and his parents.

Avery celebrated her first 4th of July last weekend. We were in Gadsden for the weekend so she got to spend a lot of time with friends and family.

Father's Day and Summer Fun

We had a fun weekend. On Saturday, Adam played golf at The Ledges, which is a very nice golf course in Huntsville. He said it was the best course he has ever played on. Hopefully, he'll get to play there again sometime.

Then on Sunday, Adam celebrated his very first Father's Day. He got a gift card to Bridge Street and Avery wore a special Father's Day outfit for him.

Then on Sunday afternoon, Avery had her first trip to the pool. Our friends Scott and Patty live in a subdivision that has a neighborhood pool. We went over there and swam and cooked out. The pool felt good since it has been so hot lately. We put Avery in the water a little bit and she loved it!

Growing Girl

Avery is growing so fast! We don't know how much she weighs, but we can tell she's definitely gaining. She's also getting long. I put her in size 6 month pajamas the other night and they fit her pretty well. She won't be able to wear her 3 month size ones much longer. We go to the doctor on June 29th so I'm anxious to see what the doctor says about her. However, I'm not looking forward to the shots :(

Three Months Old

Avery's 3 month birthday was yesterday. She is such a sweet baby! We are very lucky to be her parents. She is laying in my lap smiling at me right now. She's a really good baby, too. She only cries when she's hungry or sleepy. Other than that she's pretty laid back. She's also been sleeping through the night for a week now. Here are some pictures we took last night.

Back to Work I Go...

I go back to work tomorrow after a 12 week maternity leave. I'm very glad I was able to take 12 weeks off. I've enjoyed spending so much time with Avery. I have mixed emotions about going back to work. I really like my job and I have some really good friends at work that I've missed seeing everyday. So I'm ready to go back and get back in the swing of things. I'm also sad to leave Avery, but she will be in the capable hands of her daddy so that makes me feel better :)

To celebrate going back to work, I treated myself to a pedicure. Then we all went to the driving range and Avery and I watched Adam hit golf balls. Avery loves being outside and it was a beautiful day.

We ate dinner with my aunt Kay and then walked around Bridge Street. It was a great day!

Happy Mother's Day

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first Mother's Day. I love being a mom and am so grateful that I have a beautiful, healthy baby girl. We had baby dedication at church today and it was very special. Avery wore a beautiful dress that her Nona (Adam's mom) made for her. Our parents were able to come and go to church with us so we got to spend Mother's Day with our moms as well.

Adam did a good job making me feel like a special mom. He put a lot of thought and time into my presents.
