Abby's trip to Memphis

Every November, the company I work for has an employee conference in Memphis (the company's headquarters). It is always a lot of fun. We stay at the Hilton (which has the most comfortable beds ever!) and also hold our conference at the Hilton. During the day we have guest speakers and can choose sessions to go to based on our interests. Then we have fun stuff to do at night. This year we even had the excitement of a bomb threat! My friend Lesley and I were about to get on the elevator to go down to the first session of the day and all of a sudden an alarm went of. Then we heard this voice saying that there was an emergency and not to use the elevators. Luckily, we were staying on the 6th floor this year (we were on the 26th last year) so we didn't have too many stairs to walk down. We had to leave the hotel and stand in the rain. Then we were told it would be a while before we could go back in the hotel because the bomob squad had to check each room in the hotel. So some of us piled in my car and went to breakfast. Then we went to Target and the Pottery Barn outlet (where I purchased a baby blanket :)) About 3 hours later we were told we could go back to the hotel. The only thing we were told is that it was an anonymous bomb threat. It was crazy! But we had fun nonetheless. Here are some pictures:

November 8, 2008

On November 8th, my friend Lindy got married. Lindy and I have known each other since we were 5 years old and I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. Adam, however, wasn't as happy to be at the wedding. Not because he doesn't like Lindy, but because the wedding was during the Alabama vs. LSU game. He wasn't very happy, but being the great husband that he is, he went anyway. It was also good to see a lot of our friends at the wedding that we hadn't seen in a long time.

Here's a picture. Lindy was a beautiful bride and the wedding was beautiful as well. Congrats Lindy and Justin!

Halloween 2008

For Halloween this year we went to our friends Scott and Patty's house. They go all out for Halloween and Scott does a great job decorating their yard. I couldn't get a good picture of it since it was dark, but it was a graveyard and it was awesome! Scott also dresses up every year and scares people. We had a great time hanging out with our friends and going trick or treating with the kids. I guess we're getting in good practice for the future! I can't wait until next Halloween when we can dress up Avery :)

This is our nephew, Zach, in his Halloween costume. We didn't get to see him on Halloween but we enjoyed these pictures. He's such a rockstar!

It's a Girl!

On October 21, 2008 we found out we are having a girl!! We are so excited. Her name is going to be Avery Marie. I posted a picture of the sonogram. You can see something that looks like a pitchfork and apparently that's how we know she's a girl. The doctor's office had sample pictures of girl and boy sonograms and ours matched the girl sonogram perfectly so we're pretty confident it's a girl. We can't wait for her to be here!
