Catching Up

Well...I know it's been a while. This blog has really been neglected and a lot has happened in the past few months! Here is a recap of our summer.

We went to the beach in June with my family. We all had a great time!

We went to Adam's family reunion in June. They have a 2 day golf tournament every year.

Avery hanging out waiting on Daddy to finish playing golf.

Eating pizza at the family reunion.
We had a church picnic one Sunday. There were a lot of fun baby pools and toys for Avery and her friends to play with. There was also a lot of great food...Avery particularly liked the chocolate cake!

We spent the 4th of July at the lake.

We had a picnic with friends at Monte Sano.

That's the short version of our summer!

In August, I got a new job and we moved to Gadsden! It all happened very fast and we knew that it was the right thing for us. We had prayed for so long for the right job opportunity to open up and we are so thankful! However, we miss our friends and family in Madison! We loved it there and will continue to go back and visit. This is a new adventure for us and I look forward to the future!

12 Month Pictures

We had Avery's 12 month pictures made on April 30th. She was actually 14 months old because we wanted to wait until it was warm so we could do the pictures outside. We did them in a small town called Mooresville. It's very close to where we live and it is beautiful! It's very old and when you get there it's like you've gone back in time. You can see Avery's pictures at www.simplicitybychristy.com. Enter the site, go to client proofing, the password is abby.

Weekend in Auburn

We went to Auburn this past weekend to spend some time with our friends Casey, Katherine and their son Randall. Katherine and I grew up together and remain very close even though we haven't lived in the same city since high school. We had such a fun, relaxing weekend!

Friday night we went to the Auburn v. Mississippi State baseball game. Auburn has a very nice baseball stadium. We had fun at the game. The kids were good and sat through part of the game. Then we had to let them walk and run around some. Now that Avery's walking all the time, that's all she wants to do. She would stop to make friends with all of the other babies she saw there. Then she made friends with a camera man from a local tv station and he filmed her walking around.

We spent Saturday morning at Casey and Katherine's house and let the kids play. They had so much fun together. Then Katherine and I went to lunch and went shopping while the kids napped. Later that afternoon, we all went to the park.

We saw this a lot over the weekend. Avery loved to follow Randall everywhere he went!

We went to church Sunday morning at Cornerstone Church. After church we had a little Mother's Day photo session in the yard. We got some cute pictures! We had such a great time and plan on going back to visit soon!

A hug...

...and a kiss. How sweet!

This is Avery's fish face...we see it very often!

Sweet girl!

Easter 2010

We had a great Easter weekend last week. On Friday, I was off work and my mom came to spend the day with us. Avery got to wear another cute Spring outfit and her red shoes.

Friday night, we had a get together with the worship team at church to meet our new worship leader Chad and his wife Jessica. They are really nice and we're very excited about Chad's first Sunday tomorrow.

Saturday, some of Adam's family came to visit. We started the day at the Easter egg hunt at church. It was raining so everything was moved inside. It was a lot of fun. They had face painting (Avery got her hand painted), balloon animals, cookie decorating and crafts.

Avery was excited about her balloon!

Mia liked the balloon, too.

Decorating cookies

Avery liked to eat the sprinkles, but she wouldn't eat the cookie.

Mia loved her cookie! She'll have to teach Avery how to eat sweets.

After we left the church we went to the Mellow Mushroom and ate lunch.

I love this picture. They were sharing a banana for lunch.

After lunch, we headed to our house so Avery and Mia could play and have their pictures made together in their Easter dresses that their Nona made for them.

So sweet!

So silly!

We went to church Easter morning. Avery wore her Easter dress from her Nona and her pearl bracelet from her Granna. She did well wearing the bracelet...I was afraid she would try to rip it off her arm, but she wore it all morning with no problems. We went to the first service and then had to stay in the nursery for the second service so we were at church all morning. Then we spent the rest of the day enjoying the beautiful weather! It was a great weekend!

Avery and her Easter basket

She learned to stand on her own the night before Easter. This is the first picture we have of it. She looks freaked out by it!
